Raising the bar: A new chapter for our seasonal beers

We’ve been working on more than just delicious seasonal beers at Moorhouse’s…we’ve been rethinking the way we brew them. Behind the scenes, a quieter transformation has been taking place, one rooted in creativity and a renewed commitment to quality.

Our vision? To bring you beers with more depth and character, without losing what Moorhouse’s is known for.

Experimental brews, premium ingredients

We’re dialling into the flavour like never before – our brewers; Dan, Tom, Mark and Jordan are exploring and experimenting with hops, yeasts and beer styles to create small-batch beers full of personality.

It starts with top-tier ingredients, sourced with care and brewed with precision.

Limited runs, big flavour

This new approach means our seasonal beers are more exclusive than ever. We’re embracing small-batch production to give each beer the attention it deserves. Smaller runs ensure every drop delivers on flavour and originality.

These beers are made to be savoured while they last. When they’re gone, they really are gone.

Collaborating from the ground up

Our journey doesn’t just start and end in the brewery. We’ve teamed with suppliers like Charles Faram and Crisp Malt to take our brewing process even further. Experimenting with hop varieties through development programs and exploring new malt profiles to create never-before-tasted combinations.

Helping us bring fresh ideas to life each month.

Sustainable, one pint at a time

Great beer should be better for the planet too. That’s why we’ve made the switch to fully recyclable paper and card pump clips across our cask seasonal brews.

It’s a small change that makes a big difference, bringing us one step closer to a greener future.

A new look, same quality

You’ll spot our small batch beers from a mile off. With refreshed artwork inspired by the iconic silhouette of Pendle Hill, with the beer style and ABV as the focus.

Here’s a taste of what’s in store:

Calder Citra Hazy Pale Ale 4.0%

Hopped exclusively with Citra, this golden-hued beer bursts with zesty citrus aromas – think grapefruit, peach, and a hit of tropical mango. Light-bodied with a gentle malt backbone, it lets the hops take centre stage without overwhelming the palate.

Expect a crisp, clean finish and a soft, natural carbonation from cask conditioning. Perfectly balanced and irresistibly quaffable – the ideal pint for hop lovers and long sessions alike.

Available week commencing 5th May 2025

Black Moss Stout 4.9%

A smooth and comforting stout with a quietly complex edge. Brewed to a warming 4.9% and hopped solely with British-grown Phoenix hops from Charles Faram, this dark ale layers classic roasted malt character—notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and toasted nuts—with subtle undertones of dried fruit, molasses, and a whisper of spice.

The Phoenix hops lend a gentle bitterness and a distinctive aroma with hints of floral resin and sweet spice, rounding out the finish beautifully. Silky-smooth from cask conditioning, this is a stout built for fireside sipping and slow appreciation.

Available week commencing 19th May 2025

Downham Pale Ale 3.8%

A bright and easy-drinking British pale ale, brewed to an inviting 3.8% for maximum sessionability. Showcasing Godiva hops from Charles Faram, this beer delivers delicate layers of tangerine, white grape, and a touch of spice over a crisp, malty foundation.

Light-bodied and beautifully balanced, the finish is clean with just the right snap of bitterness to keep you coming back for another sip. A modern twist on a classic style, perfect for sunny afternoons and laid-back pints.

Available week commencing 26th May 2025

Worston West Coast Pale Ale 4.8%

A bold, transatlantic tribute to the hop-forward ales of the American West. Brewed to 4.8% and loaded with Chinook, Centennial, and Amarillo hops, this cask-conditioned pale ale delivers waves of pine resin, grapefruit zest, and orange peel, all riding over a clean, toasty malt backbone.

Firm bitterness anchors the bright citrus and dank, earthy edge, while the smooth cask pour keeps it beautifully drinkable. Unfiltered, unapologetic, and unmistakably West Coast.

Available week commencing 9th June 2025

Biscuit Barrel Best Bitter 4.0%

All about the malt – brewed to showcase the depth and character of 100% Maris Otter malt. Pouring a light amber, it offers a rich malt backbone with notes of digestive biscuit, subtle toast, and a hint of nuttiness.

Smooth and satisfying on the palate, with gentle hop bitterness letting the classic malt flavour shine through.

Available week commencing 23rd June 2025

Hill Top Citrus Table Beer 3.4%

Light in strength, big in flavour. This breezy table beer clocks in at just 3.4%, but don’t let that fool you—Comet and Mosaic hops bring a lively punch of citrus, melon, and a hint of dank tropical magic. The malt base is crisp and uplifting, making way for the hops to shine without overpowering the palate.

Naturally conditioned in cask for a smooth, gentle pour, it’s the perfect pint for easy afternoons, long sessions, and keeping your head while your taste buds go exploring.

Available week commencing 7th July 2025

Chocolate Orange Porter 4.8%

A decadent yet drinkable porter that wraps you in layers of indulgence. At 4.8%, its the perfect balance between richness and sessionability. Dark chocolate malts pair beautifully with sweet orange zest, and subtle citrus hops lift the profile with a bright, fruity twist.

Silky on the palate and gently carbonated from cask conditioning, it finishes with a lingering blend of cocoa and candied peel. Think Terry’s at the taproom—comforting, nostalgic, and made for slow sips by soft light.

Crossroads American Wheat Ale 5.4%

Bright, hazy, and brimming with character, this is a modern wheat ale brewed with a transatlantic twist. At 5.4%, it pours golden and slightly cloudy, with a soft wheat body that adds a pillowy mouthfeel and gentle sweetness. Amarillo and First Gold hops shine through with notes of orange blossom, marmalade, and a hint of spice, bringing a fragrant, zesty lift to every sip.

Smoothly conditioned in cask, it finishes clean with a touch of citrus pith and floral bitterness. A vibrant, flavourful pint that bridges classic wheat charm with bold American hop flair.
