MOORHOUSE’S BREWERY X SIX CONNECTIONS

Here at Moorhouse’s Brewery, we’re all about community. It’s about those social chats with friends and colleagues over a beer, the laughs, the catch ups, the memories. But it’s also about something more profound – it’s about real, honest conversations, even when things get a bit tougher.

Six Connections is about REAL conversation around mental health, in normal places (like the pub!) In the good times as well as the not so good. Conversations BEFORE the crisis.

Aptly, ‘Ask Twice’ is a beer that’s started from a chat between Moorhouse’s and Six Connections.

ASK TWICE is all about helping mates talk and support each other in both the good times and the challenging ones. We want to help start honest, meaningful conversations in a safe and comfortable environment, over a beer with friends.

We’re partnering with Six Connections as the support they provide for businesses and the local community is admirable.

Together we want to beat the stigma surrounding Mental Health!

ASK TWICE

We know that some conversations are tough, so we wanted to make them a bit easier. Support can be as simple as starting a conversation, so that your mates know you care. Our hints and tips, aren’t just for those who are struggling, but for the mate who wants to help and doesn’t know where to start.

JUST BE YOU

There is no better conversation starter than you. Real conversations come from relationship. Your mate just needs you to be there for them so be you.

LISTEN

The best conversations include a bit of quiet. Be present and focused. Allow your mate to say what they want to say and give them space to say more. This might not happen all at once. That’s ok.

KNOW YOUR PLACE

You don’t have to fix everything, and you don’t need to be an expert. Add the contacts below into your phone, so you are prepared. Having some back-up allows you to feel more comfortable and fully focus on the conversation.

LOOK AFTER YOU

Supporting others starts with looking after yourself. It’s hard to help others if you are struggling yourself. Keep checking in with your mates and doing the things that help you to stay healthy.

START EARLY

Why not talk about this when you are doing ok? Tricky conversations are often left too late. If you and your mates chat in the good times, it will make the tricky conversations easier if they are ever needed.

Grab a beer and have a real conversation! #PoweredByMates

Partnering with local businesses like this, help us to start more of the real conversations that we all need from time to time. These conversations will continue to support people and they will save lives.”
