Head of Sales (Moorhouse’s/Squawk)

This is a pivotal time for us and this is your chance to be at the forefront of shaping, building and growing our drinks business at this exciting time.

As well as our much-loved MOORHOUSE’S beer portfolio, we have recently acquired the SQUAWK beer brand earlier this year. So that we can maximise this acquisition, we have also invested in upgrades to our brewing and packaging capabilities that are already opening up opportunities in different market sectors and trading channels with new customers.

As such, we are now looking to support the on-going growth plan with the creation of a new role, that of Head of Sales.

Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for the entire sales function and develop sales strategies and plans to realise the ambition of the business to grow both the top and bottom line. It is a unique chance to shape both the structure and ways of working within the internal and external sales team that reflect the changing nature of our customer base.

Job Description:
• Develop and implement strategic sales plans, particularly within the on-trade channel (national retail groups, free on-trade accounts and other key hospitality groups), to achieve company goals
• Lead, motivate, and mentor the sales team
• Manage key customer relationships
• Forecast sales, revenue and budgeting in line with company objectives
• Collaborate with marketing and the brewers to identify NPD and reach out to potential clients
• Monitor and analyse sales KPIs
• Report on sales results to the MD regularly including credit control, competitor activity etc…

A successful ‘Head of Sales’ should be/have:
• Previous experience of the management of a sales team in an on-trade environment
• Good planning and organisational skills
• A strong on-trade network, selling into national retail groups, RTM accounts and regional on trade wholesale customers
• Excellent commercial acumen with communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to coach and develop selling skills with the team
• IT skills and attention to detail
• Good collaborative approach with the ability to work as part of a team
• North / North-West based
